African Pro-poor Tourism Development Centre – Making Tourism work for Communities
The Environmental Conservation Program seeks to address some of the critical issues affecting the critical habitats in Kenya, which in turn affect the quality of life of the inhabitants. These challenges include and not limited to; air pollution, soil pollution, water pollution, desertification, forest cover loss, erosion, climate change and biodiversity loss.
The program interventions and activities are aimed at contributing to a Sustainable Natural Environment through protection, conservation and restoration of natural ecosystems. The program aims at networking and partnering with the general public, local and international institutions, national and County governments in order to collectively combat environmental degradation, desertification, and pollution.
By addressing these inherent environmental challenges, the program is able to realize an improved conducive environment that promotes human life and existence of natural ecosystems. The Program activities include; Carbon Foot Print Offsetting, Climate Change Initiatives, Forest Ecosystem Restoration and Green Energy Development.
