Global Fund HIV Grant – Treatment Care & Support for PLHIVs Clean Water
The Global Fund HIV Grant-Treatment Care & Support for People Living with HIV and AIDS is funded through Kenya Red Cross Society. This is a community based support project currently implemented in Kajiado County. We support People Living with HIV on Home Community Based Care services in order to achieve better retention and HIV viral load suppression outcomes, which leads to good health amongst PLHIVs.
The project objectives are:
1. Reduce new HIV infections in the community.
2. Reduce deaths related to HIV/AIDS.
The project works with Community Health Volunteers, Peer Educators or HIV Champions. It partners with Kajiado County Department of Health at County, Sub County, Health facility and Community levels.
Program Activities include:
1. Condom distribution.
2. Community awareness creation on HIV and SGBV.
3. Community Based HIV Testing.
4. Training of Community Health Volunteers on HCBC.
5. Conducting support home visits to PLHIVs.
6. HIV data reviews and progress evaluation meetings with Community and Health Facilities.
7. Referral and linkages of PLHIVs with special need on treatment.
8 Defaulter tracing.
