TOURISM FOOTPRINT MITIGATION
Program Description:
This program focuses on making a contribution towards addressing the negative impacts of Tourism on Climate, Health, Children, etc, by travelers, Tour Operators, Hotels and Restaurants. The program aims at reducing the social, economic and climatic tourism footprint in the tourism sector in Kenya.
1. Carbon Footprint Offsetting
Under this sub program, we implement interventions and activities that contributes towards reducing carbon footprint of travelers, tourists, tour operators, hotels, tourism facilities to Carbon Neutral Levels. We help travelers and Tourism Businesses to understand Tourism Carbon Footprint, Calculate it and Offset in form of funds. The funds are then used to implement Ecosystem Restoration project activities.
2. Child Labor & Sexual Abuse Prevention In Tourism
We sensitize the tourism sector community on the negative impact of Child Labor and Sexual Abuse to the society. The aim is to prevent and reduce Child Labor and Sexual Abuse in tourism. We target travelers, tour guides, tourism businesses and community members through forums and communication resources.
